How can people find it hard to install these kinda scripts? Obviously they do, but i can't understand how some webmasters can't follow simple instructions. They all come with an installation script and it isnt rocket science to install Mplayer + Mencoder and also ffmpeg.

Listen, im not putting you down and im not trying to ruin your thread. What im simply saying is that nowadays most webmasters seem not to know what their doing when it comes to installing scripts. This might explain why hacking websites is becoming much easier. Some webmasters just don't have a clue!
I completely understand where your coming from, the only reason that I have this thread is that I am installing alot of clipshare scripts for webmasters. For some of them they try themselves and than I get msg to come fix it for them and I charge the same as I was installing it. Clipshare it's the most popular out there after which Sharemixer comes. Clipshare also is the one that gives you the most headaches. In their so called instructions it doesn't say anywhere how to install it on different servers with whatever panels you have on there. For example, on a plesk system you can install everything perfectly, but if you don't set php safe mode to off it will not convert any videos at all. Most people that know about this will set it in the main config file which is also wrong etc. On plesk system also most of them have an issue with /tmp folder not being set to exec, most of them come set to noexec and if you don't know that you can install everything the right way, but it will miss a few libraries that won't execute because of this reason, and in the end guess what it won't convert any videos I can go on and on and I'm sure you would understand why I have this thread and why I make money doing this. I've ran websites for a couple of years and installed them and I've learned alot by doing this. Can you install it? Sure, I don't know your level of knowledge or how advanced your linux skills are, they might be more advanced than me. Anyways I know you didn't mean anything by it, and neither did I!!! Cheers! Just to make it clear, in order to run a youtube like site you need to have either a dedicated server or a host that has pre-installed ffmpeg and all the libraries needed for the back processes. I"m getting a lot of msges from people that come to me and give me some web account they bought for 2 dollars a month and say here I want you to install it on this account. Calin
