Hinduism - The Boldest Religion?

I'm not a big fan of Hinduism mostly because of the funny gods and mythology but there are some things I really like about it which most religions lack.

Its the only (major) religion I know of which recognizes and accepts homosexuality and prostitution.

And we all have heard of kamasutra. It promotes oral and anal sex which most religions consider Tabu.

Its sad that its custodians today have turned it into "just another funny religion"

But India is a HINDU majority country (read 80%), even cow slaughter is banned in many a states

About having liberal view on sex, yes we do have Kamdev (God of Sex) in our mythology but still sex is a taboo subject, Should sex education be imparted in schools, we are still debating that

I don’t know if this was mean as a joke, but

(i)”of the funny gods and mythology”
The Gods in Hinduism are all the various facets of the same being, i.e, one God
The mythology you referred to (I will assumed it to be the Vedic Literature, Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita) serves as the basis for ermmm… the story of Jesus and Joseph, the Greecian philosophies (and their catalyst to the western civilization), Buddhism, huge tracts of chapters from the major religions of today (with names, location and dates changed of course) and a few other monumental influence.

(ii) “Its the only (major) religion I know of which recognizes and accepts homosexuality and prostitution”
Correct. Along with aliens (8.8 million type of creatures were created t populate the galaxy)

(iii) Kamasutra is as close to Hinduism as Playboy is to the Bible/Torah/Quran

(iv)” Its sad that its custodians today have turned it into "just another funny religion”
No, it’s sad the people of today don’t read too much

About Funny GOds : There are basically Three Major Gods , Brahma (Creator of universe) , Vishnu( Provider of essential resources) , Mahesh ( Lord of destruction). So there is nothing funny..

Life starts then evolution then destruction so that new Generation of Life can live.

We see many nations declaring themselves as christian nation or muslim nation or whatever....But we being hindus(80%) in our homeland india haven't declared our nation as a hindu nation...this shows how bold we are....Only insensible nations define themselves on religion. We believe that nation comes first and rest comes next.

The day when Muslims think "nation first, religion next" , there would be peace and harmony in any nation.

Is that really the case? being the biggest democratic country? Looks to me that 80% of hindus wants to ban cow slaughter in India wherein there are the other 20% of residents who wants to enjoy beef. That act would come from a Hindu imposing country, not a democratic one and most certainly NOT bold. I don't think any country or religion is bold, one way or the other, all religions have their own flaws.

Ohk so if you are saying that India is the biggest Democratic country than why still Muslims don't give equal rights to womens? why they ask them to be in a Hijab in a democratic country also. If they are sending their children to Madressas its good than why not in school why they are imposing restrictions on girls. Why they are not allowing girl to get further education which is most important thing in todays world????

Leaving in a BIGGEST DEMOCRATIC country they are imposing restriction on ONLY GIRLS..

What I said was based on facts.

    - Wiki

I thought this was supposed to be a 'Hinduism-bold-thing-whatnot' thread? You're just turning this into another 'i-hate-Muslims' thread.
