Hillary lost more than the nomination on Tuesday. She lost the respect she had among a lot of us on the Democratic side. The only way you can logically bring yourself to believe anything other than that Hillary was deliberately trying to hurt Obama's chances in November for as long as she possibly can is to believe that Hillary Clinton is stupid..... And I don't believe anyone believes that. She doesn't want the Vice Presidency, she wants to be president. She has said as much in the past. And again, no person that wants to be Vice President would stand up in front of a large crowd and on national TV and say she's the best candidate on the very day that Obama clinched the nomination. She spent about 80% of her speech (after some fake niceties in the beginning) basically bashing Obama indirectly by saying how she is the best and saying what she would do. But T.V. pundits expect us to believe that was her way of cozying up to Obama for the VP slot? She'd have to be stupid to think so. She just wanted to get that thought out there so Obama could say NO to her being VP. That would most certainly piss off her already quite pissed followers who she has already convinced Obama stole the election from her. Although she was obviously trying to steal it from him by staying in and hoping the super delegates would overturn the numbers. What she should have done. If she really wanted to unite the party she should have gone to that rally in Minnesota with Obama and stood on that stage with him giving him her best pro-Obama speech and her endorsement while raising both their clenched hands in the air in triumph. That would have gone a LONG way towards making the party feel united. What she did She used Tuesday night to drag the division on by talking about herself, making it seem as if we've made a mistake nominating Obama, and using words she knows will piss off her female base like "invisible". And the idea that she needed space and time to think about "her decision" really took the cake. First of all SHE LOST. The decision wasn't even hers to make anymore. You see that's why political candidates get out of the race when they see they can't win, which Hillary has known for MONTHS now. Because when you wait until the other candidate actually clinches the nomination it's not getting out anymore. It means you LOST the nomination. So congrats Hillary on being the first Democrat in modern history to LOSE the nomination instead of being an also-ran. But Hillary already knows all that I've said here. She'd have to be stupid not to. She's not even trying to hide it anymore. She's doing whatever she can to ensure Barack doesn't win in November so she can run again in just 4 short years....
I hope that logic of yours is true. Because if it's true that means everyone in the D party will love Obama and it will never come to that then will it?
I say good because I would rather vote for McCain than to vote for a closet raciest who denies his past. He says whatever it takes including distancing himself from his church of over 25 years to get elected. I was a huge Hillary supporter but I refuse to vote for Obama.
You're gonna have to come up with a better argument than that he's a closet racist just because he distanced himself from what someone else said.... So you believe he should have what? Gave rev Wright a high 5 and asked him to be VP? Are you silly enough to believe: A) It is absolutely impossible that Obama doesn't agree with rev Wright (especially his latest television round robin) B) That Obama plans to implement white slavery his first year in the White House? (Code Name: Down With Whitey) C) Voting for McCain is the best thing you can do for our country right now? Of course not, I don't believe you're stupid. So tell us the real reason you're mad. I'm keenly interested.
A) Wright has been preaching the same garbage for several years and Obama remained a member of Wright's church. Would you stay with something if were totally against the beliefs? Not to mention statements by his wife saying this is the first time she was every proud to be an American. B) Never said that. However, if it was a white man who was associated with such racist garbage, he would have been ran out of town. For example, Trent Lott. C) He is the lesser of two evils. I do not think he is the best thing but at least we know where he stands. Obama has no real experience and is just smooth enough to say what needs to be said at the time. No trust or faith in Obama being able to run the nation.
Okie dokie, so faced with the decision to go with some guy you don't know or trust or go with convicted con who told you he is going to anally violate you repeatedly you'll go with the anal domination because you at least "know where he stands". Got it. In other words, you're not concerned that everything McCain is saying to your face is against what you believe in as a Democrat. You're more concerned about what you think Obama might agree with. I take back the vote of confidence I gave you earlier....
Hillary isn't your average sweet and caring middle aged mom. She is a cunning and ruthless [am i wrong?] politician, the my way or the highway type. What she did seems natural to me. Why the need for such a fake show. Everybody knows they can't get along and probably dislike each other.
Too bad I didn't watch it. I will turn on the T.V. right now to get a glimpse of it. Pure comedy. I don't think that it's about like and dislike here though. I think Hilly could love you to death, but if you were in her way, she would cut your dick off, stab you, drown you, cook your bunny or "cause you to committ suicide". Hope the The Psycho Ex-Girlfriend of the Democratic Party will stop making news soon!
BS. Hillary has burned her bridges. She's done as far as a Presidential candidate and I do not think Obama will seriously consider her for VP. She'll be lucky to get a cabinet position in the Obama admin. That's far more than she deserves after the campaign she has ran.
I feel sorry for you Americans. You don't get the chance of voting for who you want, just the chance to vote for some glove-puppets. Whoever becomes President will not take any notice of what you want as they have shown in the past. Like someone once said: "If it's important then they wouldn't ask me to vote". It's all a sham.
The past is no indicator of the future. Both obama and mccain are reasonable candidates, if one puts aside the rose coloured glasses. If you don't get what you want, do with what you get. Adaptibility is a hallmark of humankind and we should adapt to whoever becomes the president. Or should we whine and dine and throw a fit every day. "Do what we do, make do"
Are 'reasonable' candidates good enough to run the most powerful nation on earth? Where have all the real statesmen gone, they don't seem to make them anymore? Oh well, I hope the winner turns out the be someone special for a change.
Bush wasn't the best rider in the business and he rode the horse twice. If someone gets there without dying in the process, he's good enough to be president.
