I know most people just delete these, but this one was just so over-the-top terrible I thought you guys might appreciate it. Anyone else have any so bad they are good link requests?
I have many penpals in China, and they try very hard to learn english and build english sites. Ofcourse this may infact be some spammer writting in bad english, or a person with english as a second language?
It is hard to say if it is a spammer or someone that doesn't know english too well. My guess is a person made this paragraph and sent it to a few people all at once.
You never know could be some poor soul who just wants to get his website out there so people can see. Maybe he dont know the tricks like other webmasters.(Guess the world will never know)
Now that you mention it, I imagine it is someone with english as a second language, but really, their site is really bad quality too. Maybe I should reply to them and suggest they get a few tips from DP.
The problem is that they admit that their site is crap, so it's not a mutually beneficial partnership and is not worth having.
You could have atleast left the URL in so the poor guy gets a backlink from the thread making fun of him
Actually his use of english wasn't much worst than everyone else who has posted to this thread.( "including myself") Just a different dialect.
Personally I'd have just deleted it after reading the first 2 lines. The person who emailed you should consider themselves lucky that you're name isn't Eric Ward. - Matt
I've received much worse than that, but I never kept them. Unless they take the time to find out about you and your site, I won't give them a second glance. I can spot those spammy 'sent to 500 sites at once' requests a mile away, but when they do the research and send a personal request addressing you by your name, I usually at least take a look.
ya, he did admit his site is crap so i wouldn't link. But if he does look legit i would send him a pointer or so and let him know why maybe? or ignore it, but i agree the my site sux appraoch is not benefitial to you
