It's an absolute must for anyone using Twitter to really know both the right way and the wrong way of using Twitter. You always hear and read about getting X number of followers in X record time. But, there's a downside to getting followers at a rapid rate. You may get followers you don't want in your list, i.e. spammers and porn related sites, for example. Filtering them out can be a time-consuming endeavour that no one would consider under those conditions...you'd have to hire someone to read through the tweets of those followers just to see if you want them to be a part of your circle or not. Now, Twitter is probably doing its best to combat the likes of the above mentioned groups, but they still need help from regular users, which they promptly ask for by asking us to report such sites to their @spam account. Notably enough, even the "Verified" Twitter people or VIPs are selective in the numbers they follow. However, on the other hand, there are people that one would like to follow, but their tweets might be quite numerous in any given day, so that, when you follow them, you find that their tweets might occupy more than half of a Twitter page you may be viewing, edging out the other tweets you may want to read. I also just started using twitter a few days ago. I had an old twitter account, but I never used it. Now I use it to tweet when new posts are added to my sites. I'll have to check those links out.
