No directory can out due Yahoo! Directory...

It is the only directory other than DMOZ that actually benefits you as far as major search engines.

We all know who run the best here at DP, is there really a need to make ANOTHER thread about it and have worthless plugs?

It all depends on how people are looking at directories. Some only look at certain factors and forget the ones that are the most important. With that said, it is hard to get an honest answer out of most people because most just list the sites they are being paid to help promote.

In either case, as I always say, the directories that provide 100% seo value to your link are the best directories imo regardless of their page rank.

Aviva gets my vote for having some final link pages with PR5. Google must love it.

Excellent directory, one of the best I have ever seen on DP.

    - It as a high pagerank of 0

    - A very low alexa of 780,357

    - Full of original content with 518 listings and some of the best enlarge your penis sites even a water based penis enlargement site.

    - A very nice original rip-off design with the original designer links removed

I sense loot's of google love...

What can I say a truly winner..keep up the good work

Did anybody compared supplement pages in google for both alive and aviva directory?
Do it with site: command and you will see a huge difference there.

    My vote to Alive.

You are right but that is caused by link submitters using the same description when submitting to multiple links. I know Aviva is rewriting its links descriptions which should fix the supplemental results issue.

I was one the first to alert to this problem, and people look at me with strange face, because nobody was doing it.
Now time proves I am right, at my directories I strive for 100% original content, as descriptions and articles are unique.

Ditto. I've always edited the descriptions. I got generous for a while but quickly saw the effect and changed back. Takes more work - and still went supplemental - but worth it.

The best thing a directory can do is have every category ranked for keyterms related to the sites listed. Having unique descriptions will definitely help you do that.

    Ok, 99,999% not doing it.
Can you name directories doing CopyScape validated rewrites 6 months ago? or even now?

OK, kick me for not reading the whole thread but what is a "CopyScape" validated rewrite?

I've had directories for years and have been editing titles and descriptions all that time.

Go to CopyScape.com enter the url you wish analyzed, and if 0 equal or near equal pages pop-up you have a CopyScape validated page.

Normally drectories have hundreds of equal pages; all it takes is a similar listing or 25% of the listing to be equal to fire the CopyScape filter.
Try it you will enjoy it very much :)

I don’t know if I am over the top, but I try that all my pages validate on CopyScape, what is very hard.

Theres a ton of High Quality Directories at Digital Point...

Here are some high quality directories (Based on Owner Promotion and Design):
(Many of these directory owners also own more than 1 quality directory, but these are the top I've ever seen here at DP) If I missed you, I'll make sure to add to this list.

I would highly suggest visiting and submitting to these directories as their value will continue to increase with every passing day. The owners spend a ridiculous amount of time on these directories to make them unique and worth your time.
