Well look on the bright side, maybe we will be enlightened as to exactly why the size of a database is relevant to quality. hahaha (in bytes too woowoo)

    Judging criteria:

    • No more than 3 pages per category
    • No spammy titles, titles are edited to reflect the site it links to
    • When you navigate to the right category and click on the add link the category is shown in the submit form
    • When your link is accepted the email includes a link to the page where your site is listed
    • Listings are shown in some sort of order other than the order they were submitted
    • Links are clean with no javascript tricks or nofollow added, directory doesn't block listings via no follow
    pgolovko - take note

I'll add one more to Sarah's list:

    * No accepting EVERY SUBMISSION no matter if it was auto-submitted by a spammer and I can't even understand anything on the page because it is a foreign language but I want to pad my stats so I can post them in threads like this one. (ex. here)

Sorry, pgolovko. You can't add stuff like that and expect to be one of the "Highest Quality Directories on DP." Best of luck in the future, buddy. :)

It's his directory and maybe he speaks russian. That description makes perfect sense in Russian. :)

Archive of programs and scripts. The site boasts with a lot of different kinds of web tools and ... etc :)

Maybe he does, but it's also important to consider your target market and the target market, in this case, may be PortProphecy and me. We consider it spammy so we won't post our (hopefully) quality sites.

Language issues are why you have niche directories for different languages, or subcategories for each language (see DMOZ for an example of how this might be managed)

I've noticed that most owners of big directories are DP members so you chould get the "Highest Quality Directories" , remove dmoz and yahoo and you get "Highest Quality Directories on DP" :)

Well I never thought that a *web master forum* would or could ever have produced some high quality websites, directories, advice etc etc.

now shame on me for expecting a webmaster forum to do that.

Alive, Aviva, SevenSeek, V7n are surely some rocking ones.

But I may feel proud to add:
I find them good... infact very good. :)

oh damn, thx hummm, I appreciate your opinion in putting me up there with what you believe in your opinion is the best.

btw, I granted you access to directorydump admin to see how easily the admin driven MODs function, right? (my damn short term memory hahaha)
