In my opinion, this is the right idea. :) There's a lot of money to be made with the "low hanging fruit" - keywords with PPCs that aren't so low that they're worthless, but also aren't so high that they have 40 million competitors. ;)

Hi everyone, I'm new around here and I want to ask a question, why aren't people getting these keyword bids from the adwords keyword tool, since each Adsense publisher can also login to Adwords? Am I missing something, are the amounts given there about something else? I really am curious about this. Plus, I believe that some keywords that are high on overture are very low in Google.

Hi Mara, and welcome to the forum. :) I use the AdWords Keyword Tool and Traffic Estimator all the time as part of my keyword research. I think these types of threads (and there are many) typically start with a "can someone just tell me which keywords generate the highest AdSense revenue?" flavor, rather than a "how can I figure it out for myself?" flavor. ;) And I agree that there's much variation between the keyword values for Overture and AdWords/AdSense, and I think a good strategy is to use several keyword tools in order to determine accurate value.

    HTH,

Thanks Sam youre very kind. I've written a hello post in the introductions part, but no one seems to be welcoming me except you. So, there's nothing wrong with what I'm doing. I'm new with all of these stuff. But I'm trying to reach up. I have a blog where ı listed quite a few of these keywords. Just to show that everybody can find them. I haven't even used one of them. If it will be of any use to any one, I can give its address. I couldn't spot the highest ones but I believe that those that are very high, can fall equally quickly. The highest ones aren't very dependable in the long term.

    Hey Mara,

I don't think I've ever visited the Introductions forum, so this may be true of other members, as well. Anyway, all of the cool members hang out here. :D

It sounds like you're on the right track, and I agree that many of the highest paying terms are virtually useless, due to saturation. I believe "mesothelioma" is the poster-boy keyword for this type of term. ;) And you can always post a link to your blog in your post, but it won't become active until you have at least 10 posts.

    Best of success. :)

My most popular page is getting 1 cent clicks. And I can't get relevant ads whatever I do. I tried everything I learned from various places, I put section targeting before and after previous posts so that the bot can get the idea from the titles there. But nothing. At last I tried filtering and the next day I found ads in various other languages like German and Dutch. Mostly Turkish vacation ads I guess. That blog is in Turkish and I was ready to accept ads even in English if they were relevant. I post about things I'm learning about the web, seo, ppc, internet marketing. I know that there are ads about these in Turkish. Could it be that the blog is only a few months old? But my newer blogs are getting relevant ads at once. Or I'm thinking this is a large blog with many posts in it maybe as the content increases the keyword density is decreasing. But still most of them are under a common topic can't the adsense bot understand that? What should I do? If I try to put anymore keywords, the content will start getting meaningless.
And this is happening although it's in the first page of google in almost every word that passes in the posts. I don't know how this happened too, (not anything like English but there is much competition in Turkish too) some of these keywords have millions of search results, but I'm in page 1, and its absolutely no use to me! :(
The bots understand my keywords good enough to put me in the first or second page in over 20 keywords but they can't my keywords to give me some relevant ads! (I'm sorry this became too long, but I am very puzzled)

    Hey Mara,

It sounds like there's something unusual going on, but it's hard to tell what - it seems like you've covered all the bases. "A few months" is more than enough time for the AdSensebot to do its thing - I'm typically displaying relevant ads after a few minutes. It may be simply a matter of having so much variation in your content that the bot can't determine the subject matter - this happens sometimes with blogs, but it's usually on blogs that have widely varied subject matter, e.g. a personal diary, etc. If you can't find a resolution on your own, you may want to contact AdSense Support - in my experience, they're very quick to respond, and usually very helpful. :)

One other piece of information that may be helpful - the bot (Googlebot) that crawls and indexes your pages in Google's SE is different than the bot (AdSensebot) that determines subject matter and serves AdSense - so at least that part of it has a logical explanation.

Best of luck, and I hope you find a resolution soon. :)

    Hey Sam,
Thanks for your advices but I wrote to Adsense a few times about this. It took some time but they did answer most, I'm still waiting for my last reply, I guess they got bored of me. They tried to give some help but mostly useless for me. By the way, yesterday this blog I'm talking about became PR3. It's only 3 months old. And last month these days ıt became 2. I'm happy but I don't know why, its absolutely no use to me.

I use the Adwords keyword tool, write some keywords, get more suggestions from the tool and then click on the traffic estimator. It also gives traffic, search, etc. figures or estimates. I guess you can also link to the Google Traffic Estimator without having to login to Adwords. That also gives bids. Nowadays I'm using the Google Smart Toolbar it has links to almost every tool needed for these things. You can download it from tools-adsense.blogspot.com.

These lists are useless IMHO. There are just too many other factors that determine the click pay rate.

That is 100% correct. I deliberately prepared a page around a keyword with a $10 ctr, because I was bored of 1 or 2 cent clicks. All I'm getting from that $10 keyword is again 17 cent clicks! There are many different ads under the same niche/topic and their ctr's can vary from a few cents to a few dollars or more. How can you check all of these very low ads so that you can filter them and leave only the high ones. From Google's keyword tools you can only get the estimated price of the keyword, not the exact price of each ad belonging to that keyword. Yes, there are many factors or it would have been very easy for everyone to earn lots of money. I wish some real earners around could give more thorough examples to what they do with their pages, instead of tip this and tip that.

I think you're probably happy because you know there's a lot of potential there. ;) I'd encourage you to be persistent and stick with it - you may reap a great reward in the future if you do. :)

I agree that these lists are useless, at least if you decide to target the exact keywords provided. Another factor not already mentioned is that these lists are typically available to many thousands of publishers, and the increased competition makes them even less valuable than they otherwise would be.

I can say that I sometimes use these lists in a very specific way: thinking laterally. I take a keyword from the list, think of other related keywords, and then conduct keyword research on the related keywords. This is a great way to discover undeveloped niches. :)

most of those high bidders are for search engine ads only...they don't display on normal sites....otherwise, everyone would have them
