That is what is called an experiment :)

It's slightly different and was done in a set of 3 to see if there was anything special about Shawn's eBay page. The other two are compelely different.

    Here they are:

    http://www.mia.net/ebay

    http://www.mia.net/ebay/ebay.html

    http://www.mccoypottery.com/ebay/index.html

All three rank in the top 20, with http://www.mia.net/ebay (mine) at 6 and http://www.mia.net/ebay/ebay.html at 7

http://www.mccoypottery.com/ebay/index.html does not rank at all yet, however, oddly enough, I have a number 4 that was not part of the experiment.. A fluke if you will:

http://www.mccoypottery.com/ebay/ebay.php3 is around 18 or so.

My intent was to the following:

    1. Is the code/alt tags, content as important as the promotion?
    2. How long will it take to get them in the top 10

I suppose number one plays a role, but not as much as one would expect. On number two, who knows on the promotion end. I did not use the power of the ad-network. I used an SEO formula I developed myself and promotion on 14 select search enines.

It took just 10 days to rank in the top 10.

So I thought it was a fluke. But I have replicated this method a couple times.

"mesothelioma attorney" has been hovering around the number one spot for several days now. Along with several other variations of that kw. That took about 10 days as well. Of course "mesothelioma" by itself is a difficult one.. But it is darn close (lets say in the high 20's).

So I did it with another site as well and again it seems to work. Now that I have found what works, I think I will stick with it.

I would not copy something without a purpose :) I went to school for art after all, and learned like the masters. By copying. After a while you develop your own style, and borrow from others, ie., technique, theme, subject matter.. But in the end, the style is all your own.

    Peace and chicken grease

Well the correct thing to do would be to ask the owner of the content.. dont try to sugar coat it, I don't want to hear your excuses.

Also, it has nothing to do with the content you stole from Shawn- its the linking being done, so your 'test' really doesn't prove anything besides the fact that you can't come up with original content, even if its a few sentences.

As i said before content has a lot to do with it. Some sites will never have high paying keywords.

a free site you can use to search for high paying keywords is www*highpayingkeywords*co*uk There are currently only 400 keywords but they are high paying and approx 100 new keywords are added weekly.

Yes it is my site so this is kind of self promotion but its free and has helped me increase my adsense revenue! I have thousands more to add!

There is a tool that has recently been released that will let you query google for the cpc for any keyword being used in adwords, how many campaigns are using it etc. All pretty detailed stuff so If anyone wants the URL to the software website let me know. (And no its not my software;) )

These figures may be a little outdated but they were certainly correct at time of publishing. I used the software to check keywords I had campaigns running on and it was spot on. Thats good enough for me and I only need a 'ball park figure' to work on. As I said in my previous post my adsense earnings have increased significantly and are now 4 figure cheques monthly! Its a matter of using the data in the correct way.

You dont have to trust/use the data provided, it is only as a *free* aid to assist in webmasters wanting to generate more money. ie; scour the list you'll soon see that finance related keywords carry some high clicks so build a finance related website! As I said its a quick and easy 'at a glance' indication of what is paying and what's not.

Believe me there are people out there who have NO idea where to start. This is a free list and the old saying of you get what you pay for is true. If you want upto date statistics buy the software, or if you want an upto date list pay me and I'll update it! ;) (please remember its currently *FREE*)

PS: The 77 cents you mention (not that I'm going to check over a weekend) maybe what you're seeing in your adsense account but anyone who knows anything about adsense knows that CPC doesn't stand for 'money in your account' Thats is the average a person is paying per click yes, or prepared to pay/bid! If the next bidder on that keyword pays 76 cents then it goes up a cent/penny! The list does not tell you what YOU WILL EARN per click just the statistics for what was being 'bid at the time of press'

You could check out cj's top paying ads. This will give you some idea of what people are buying online.

People, please do not take this list as the gospel on the highest paying keywords. It is intended as an overview of topics that are attracting high bids.

By the very nature of adwords I nor anybody else could compile and publish online a list of keywords before they became innacurate. Publishers only pay a penny higher than the next bidder so although the maximum bid may be $500 the actual price being paid may be as low as $5 (of which you get your share) and as soon as their daily limit is used the bid changes or someone else joins the bidding etc etc.

The idea of the site is to give people an IDEA of what topics are attracting high bids. When I fisrt started out with adsense I had no idea who would pay what and did not want to buy any lists. This site aims to rectify that but as dougadam suggested 'check out other tools' you will soon see patterns emerging and above all read as much about adwords as possible. When you have an idea of how adwords works you will have a clearer picture of adsense and possible revenues. Its just a list people, if you dont agree with it, just dont use it, but if you want to start off on the right foot pick a keyword, find related keywords, check their cpc and so on and so on.

This is what I do on a regular basis and it is free lists that put me on the right track to start with. I'm not going to get into earnings but together with this list and other tools I have made significant earnings from adsense and now only work 3-4 hours per day on quality content based websites that naturally attract the high paying ads.

I'm just trying to give a few newbies a head start! I just wish someone had done the same when I started out so i didn't waste time building sites that generated lots of 2p clicks!

I agree with Dejaone, those keywords in legal, financial (mortgage, hard money lenders and etc) are likely highest-paying keywords. Keyword prices keep increasing every year by 20% or more, and will keep climbing as long as companies see benefits.

There will come a time when buying ads will become too great for common sites and be owned by the large corporations or other lead generation sites, like the legal and financial industries are seeing today. There will always be room for smaller Niche industries, and those obscure search terms that hardly anyone types, you will only need about 10x the amount of search terms to generate sufficient traffic.

These people selling the top-paying keywords seem like scammers to me. How can they be certain what the top-paying keywords are. Send me some money and I'll send you a list of keywords with a CPC attached to it. It'll be clearly bogus, but then won't your site about those top keywords be bogus anyway.

Actually, these days almost anyone can built keyword lists in an automated fashion using services like the AdWords API. Just look at the KeywordRequest part of the AdWords TrafficEstimator service.
