I do a little bit of everything. My advice is to not worry too much about the reported "eCPC". Just b/c one program has an average $10 CPC ($10 payout per 100 clicks) and another has $15, doesn't mean that you won't do better with the $10 CPC program.

    my biggest was about $2k..

these days it's not that great..and it's true that you need to scrap the idea of "mall" type sites..they were here for year 2000 or so not for today. a lot changed since..niche is the way to go now..I'm gonna scrap all my mall sites but just cant for now..

my best advice would be find a good converting merchant and dig their stuff to get niche products etc and invest on those..

I just wonder how people handle ppc and CJ..I cant seem to find the balance or the style i'm kinda inexperience on that..

Glad I found these forums 'cause I'm baffled by the lack of any real income from CJ.

The only cash I've earned (and it is too small to even report here) is from ebay. I've got a dog site and an aviation site that I thought would do great (content-types).

I've been with CJ since late last Summer. No doubt I'm doing something wrong from what I've read elsewhere in this thread.

More power to you 2-20K month folks!

Still working on finding that balance myself..
I average in the x,xxx range each month :D

And yet I still can't make xxx in Adsense. This baffles me.

I've spent about $50 some odd dollar trying to promote site on CJ and havn't seen a penny in return. I personally am not wasting my time on em' anymore. I can make a lot more money in different fields of the game!

My experience has been similar. I built special areas to promote CJ links with real audience affinity (dog food and a dog insurance pet plan on my dog site) but without a dime from that type of promotion, despite many clicks and a CPC ad buy to support it.

Thanks to those poor results, I changed the dog food to Chitika links for specific products which has worked better.

As I said above, I've only made a small amount of money from EBay auctions through CJ and that has been on the aerospace news site promoting collectibles.

I've looked around here (digitalpoint) but not found any real wisdom about this (how to make $ with CJ) - is there a thread with this type of info I should be reading?

Put the ebay editor kit on your dog site, that should bring in a bit of coin.

Thanks for the tip - that's what I'm using on the aviation site - ya think that will work for dogs, huh? That thought never popped into my empty head. ;)

I had my first >$100 day with CJ yesterday. Hot damn :) ...one trick.. target buyers in your free traffic campaigns by going for longer phrases with "buy" "cheap" and "discount" in them.

Frig, I haven't had a >$100 on CJ for over three days now. Ebay hasn't been updating the commission payments, for the 4th day I think now and my ACRU's fell like a rock for the past week.

As for ebay and dogs, who couldn't resist clicking on something from this search:

    http://home.search.ebay.com/custom_Dog-Apparel_W0QQcatrefZC12QQfromZR8QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQsacatZ46293

I give, what's a free traffic campaign? How do I sign up for that!

Haha that is my term for any traffic I don't have to pay for. SE's, link exchanges, directories, etc.

ps. that search is no good to me; my dog is >50 lbs.. no one sells anything on ebay for real dogs. She really needs some new ballet slippers with built-in socks.

Well, I took your advice about the dog searches. Those are now in as leaderboards, boxes and skys in rotation. I'll give some thought to other searches too and report back on the ROI.

I went further and added a new airplanes for sale search to my rotating ads on the aerospace news site as well as an additional static section - which I'll build out some more by type (single engine, helicopters, experimental, etc.).

Thanks very much to everyone for the excellent ideas - now if only the market will cooperate (and I don't mess-up the execution!)
