No, Good Pr not necessarily means good SERP, PR tells the importance of your site and not your position in SERP. As good serp don't come from high PR sites.

Nobody knows. Google doesn't announce them.

Not true at all, PR can be faked.

Pr is calculated by over 500 factors, any one of them could take a site over the top.

A better scale is the tool at www.seomoz.org/page-strength/

    Its more accurate IMO

definitely not...PR has no connection with SERP at all...even unranked PR sites can be on top...

I think it has some connection in little ways, but the connection is not direct besides these two would still fall under seo

This afirmation is wrong so wong ......

Pr is just a number ....

Higher pr doesn't mean highr rankings
High rankings could mean a high pr but is not a Must (i rank with a pr3 site / Pr5 even higher sites just to show that pr doesn't mather)

Higher PR means better search rankings, but it does not guarantee that you'll be at the top. It does not mean that lower PR pages can't outrank you.

How can a PR 0 beat higher PR sites at search rankings? Because there are other factors like anchor weight, on-page optimization, relevance of your backlinks to your niche, the name of your site (ww.keyword.com will help you rank better than ww.somethingsomethingkeyword.com), etc.

Basically, lower PR sites outrank higher PR sites because they appear to be more relevant to the search query. Higher PR means you can go from rank 100,000 to the top 300.

And another issue is where you base your PR. At the outdated Google Toolbar? You could be looking at a PR 0, when in actuality, the PR of that page is PR 6! It takes around 3 months for Google to update the visible PR, but the actual PR is being updated quite frequently.

A site with gh PR 6-9 usually will maintain great rankings in the free traffic. However, sites that are relatively new or with lower Pr may outrank sites with higher PR...so its really hard to tell the importance of PR these days...

Relevance to the query is the key.

All other factors equal, that is, given two pages with hypothetically equal relevance to the search query, the higher PR page will rank better.
