I know laser targeting is key, but for this particular offer, my revenue per visitor is pretty high, even for untargeted visitors. Its kind of an arbi play, but regionally centered. The content network works pretty well for this offer. So, I want to get my ad in front of as many people from particular states as possible. So, lets say that I set up a campaign to target content network visitors from, say, Indiana. I want my ad in front of as many people from Indiana as possible and can pay a pretty good cpc... certainly more than the ringtoners, forexers, and daters. Should I just create very broad adgroups targeting things with keywords like: news, weather, sports, etc... Or, should I make massive keyword lists of small variations of keywords like I would for search? If I target words like "online" and "news" etc., will it get the kind of impressions I want? I know how to do this for search network... but for content network how can I get the maximum number of impressions?
If you know specific sites that would display your ads, you could consider a site-targeted campaign instead. Christoph
Yes, I've done site targeting, and it works but cpm model is tougher to control. Once I get into cpc site targeting I will be ok. Until then I need to just blast my cpc using keywords.
