Hi i have had the domain name for a while now and dont see any problems. I can confirm I have NEVER been contacted by google regarding this domain name and my account has never been baned.

I dont see any problems even setting the site up as a custom search like www.info.com . that site is doing well as a custom search and that was my plan for this domain name , I just dont know how to do it.

Nick, not sure if you're aware of Trademarks? or UDRPs? or that Google will sue you for owning this name...?

 

Google cant sue me for owning a site called googlesearch, there trade make is google and just that. there are other sites like googledomainregistration.org, who also are not google. and are not claiming to be google

there are many examples of this on the net if i got bpsearch would bp sue me ?. of how about xboxworker.com , i dont see a problem, if i had google-search i might agree that the word google belongs to google , but google cant own every long word that starts with google.

ps b4 buying the domain name i did a search here http://search.usa.gov/search?affiliate=web-sdmg-uspto.gov&locale=en&m=false&query=+googlesearch

and found that googlesearch is not a trademark or patented


however we will see if google ever is going to take action on a site that is not trademarked by them.

i however dont think it will happen. and the site is listed in google too just for your info. i am not trying to hide from them lol. have renewed the domain for another year. if i do not get a buyer i will just keep it and see.

You rambled on about how wrong I was, when it doesn't matter what YOU think. The law is the law, you cannot own a domain name with ANY trademarked terms. Granted there are hundreds of infrindging domain names out there, but Google has an entire legal team who send Cease and Desist notices to their sites. Once you comply, they file for UDRP and take the name away. If you don't comply, they'll sue you and you'll be liable for damages.

But hey, what do I know??

 

domainloco is correct. The domain contains "google" and is trademark infringement. Google does not have to trademark any mark that contains "google" in it. They own the rights to use ANY term with "google" in it. Google can take the domain in a UDRP and/or sue the owner.
