    Hi Guy's,

I hope someone can come up with some creative idea's here for me!?!

Currently im running a website called http://www.housemusicpodcasts.co.uk The site has now been up and running for almost a yr and is averaging about 40,000 visitors per month! Im in desperate need to make some revenue on the site as originally it was setup as a hobby but now has turned into something totally different.

We have plenty of visitors and making only a few $'s per week with the current Google ads, what would you suggest to make some decent revenue on the site with the traffic we currently have?

I have been thinking of adding audio trailers to the begining of the podcasts themselves but this could be quite time consuming. To give you an idea last month we have 120,000 podcast downloads, this is tracked from a remote site!

Any creative idea's would be fab ;-)

    Regards

    Tom

your adsense blocks position and look could be better optimized (to look more like content)
you could also add amazon music products to get paid affiliate commission

Tomupton, are you using only one type of advertising? You need to spend the time doing 100's of different advertising for your site, not spending your time changing your site around....there's nothing wrong with it...just needs to get out to the millions of people that are on line daily. I've been doing Internet Marketing since 1995. There are actually 100's, if not 1,000's of advertising avenues to try and see which ones work and which ones don't. No one can just put up a site and hope to make money....it takes work!

The site is doing well traffic wise which is cool, im just keen to make some money from it. The content is very unique and the SEO has been optimised for certain keywords that pull in good amounts of visitors!

Im just not 100% what would be the best way to generate revenue. Obviously Adsense is working ish, but not making good amounts of money! I would have thought with the visitors ive currently go i could be generating atleast $5-10 per day?

I noticed your home page doesn't have very much advertising on it. I see a few banner ads but I think you could squeeze some more ads on your home page. Try finding an affiliate product and put up those banners on your site and see how they convert.

-It looks like your site is focused on house music so you can easily find an affiliate product that sells DJ software and I bet that would convert well on your site. Maybe find a way to get your visitors to sign up to a newsletter or something and start harvesting e-mail addresses.

Nice site and best of luck to you!!!

Thanks mate for spending sometime replying. There is currently one affiliate on the site smack on the home page "The Are You Able" box which is being promoted, but conversions are low! Was trying to look at other ways :(

    Thanks anyway mate ;-)

First of all you've got some awesome house artists showcased on your site. Big house fan since 81. With all the searches for house I've done in the last 8 months why have I only found you in this forum? Great looking site.

You asked, here ya go: As long as you have solid knowledge of who your visitors are you should take that info and refine your parameters for your google adsense. Don't leave it up to google to decide what ads are best for your site. Here's the thing, I wouldn't ad more adsense to your site, just offer what they like to click on, check your adsense stats.

    Tips:

For targeted visitors: A formal Internet marketing - social media blueprint is required to engage and build a huge community with your visitors/fans who Know-Like-Trust you around all your social media, your main websites, and brand. Done correctly you community will build your business.

To Monetize your site: I would start polling visitors to find out what they are interested in seeing, hearing and doing locally and regionally in regards to house music. From this polling feature products that you create yourself (See below) or from Joint Ventures. Creating your own Products are more targeted, profitable, This won't break the bank or consume your time.

Concept: Build your own list(s) on all social/main/blog sites by offering like Free Report: "5 Secrets DJs Should Know About Promoting Themselves". Monetize the report with a backend paid offer of yours... could be an exclusive membership, must be relevant to valuable information in the free report.

This is a little simple thinking. For a Blueprint Skype me: lucky.grm

Also only 1 add box in home page, as I personally loves this site, so you must change some add positions, also increase adds boxes.
what about using pap per impression ? if you've good traffic like you said then pay per impression is good for you.

also try some amazon affiliate, like selling songs cd's, and much more you can do.

    Thank you for your comments.

I agree with the site loading times. The theme that is being used is graphics hungry and alot of the images need to be optimised!

My main goal for the site is to extend some of the features. What im planning to do is to make the site into more of an information portal but keeping a focus on podcasts.

Im planning to introduce a new theme that covers on the homepage "news", "events", "interviews", "competitions" to give the site more content but in return pull in more visitors and traffic.

Ideally im looking for someone who is mega creative who can develop a theme for me using the same colours etc that i could implement into the site. I would love to add more user interaction too, ive come across a plugin called "Mingle" which is a basic social networking plugin, this feature i would love on the site.

Anyway thats my plans... If anyone can help that would be fab!

    Tom
p.s. Got a load more artists coming on board very soon too!! Mauro Picotto just to name one of them haha
