High Traffic Low eCPM?

Hey folks, I know a lot of people are looking for high earnings, but I'm specifically interested in developing some high traffic sites -- even though the Adsense eCPM may be very low.

Can I get some pointers... maybe the niches you tried and gave up on or that produce a lot of interested visitors but no buying activity -- so advertising is sparse? I'm guessing game sites, proxy sites and so on, but I'm willing to bet many people have tried various niches and failed to monetize them well... I certainly have.

In the long run I have some ideas for increasing eCPM and could use some volunteers who don't mind temporarily sending a small amount of traffic through a nofollow link from a low eCPM site.

Anyway, it's the weekend, so if you PM me don't expect an immediate reply...

Most niches are paying equally low.
Choose the one you like best.

The golden rule is test test and test again, unless you just get lucky

Video sites can get a lot of traffic with low eCPM.

The game that we play in the adsense is about getting the most number of clicks and improving the ctr. But google has the last say in this matter. It is the ecpm that ultimately matters over which we have no control but we can test and select one with a high ecpm by trial and error. But that requires some hard work too :)

Koan, thanks, I'm glad somebody noticed what I meant.

I'm not complaining about low eCPM's, I'm looking for niches or sites that are generally known to have very low eCPM's...
