Hi, Nowadays we see a new type of websites where you can add or choose a funny quote which you can click on a facebook like button to post it on your facebook wall. My question is how those wesites receive all that huge amount of traffic since the've just been created, the older one was created a month ago. why would you build any serious business based on a free domain name? as for promotion you could buy traffic directly to you service
I disagree about the SEO... the way to drive traffic to those sites is to use Facebook, how else? I mean in theory im sure maybe a few people search google for "like websites" but these websites all generate their traffic through facebook, not SEO. Can you guys explain why you even gave him that terrible advice? Im interested to hear the reason because SEO is the last thing id do for those types of sites...
You got visitors coming to your site, but you should add some Adsense and some tags to help boost your traffic. You need h1,h2, and h3 tags. Also, you need to have a keyword you are trying to rank for in the search engines. Your keyword should be in all of your tags and spread out throughout your page.
Take some time to read through the SEO section, and update your skill set. When you have that done, then take some time to work on multiple sources of traffic. Relying to heavily on one is dangerous.
It makes no sense to apply conventional SEO to a website like this. I seriously doubt any significant number of people are searching for "thing to like on facebook" or anything of that sort. I would start by making a facebook page, maybe even some fake profiles and randomly "liking" things. The success of this really depends on someone else seeing "so and so likes..." in their newsfeed and clicking through to check it out.

As the idea is somewhat new, I'd think the first fews who do this got some kind of publicity from news/local newspaper or something, then words spread. There are no reasons use other sites apart from the first one you know unless it have something different IMO. If it was me, I'll do promotion via FB and do offline-marketing instead. As those who're online are more likely to know about the original site already.
Actually, i found few of new building sites got lots of fb traffic everyday. i do not know how he's promote but the main thing maybe he has large fan page.
