High traffic but low CTR in Adsense - should I switch to CPM ads?

    Hello,

I have a clip art website that is currently getting good traffic: 3000-4500 unique visitors a day, and 6000-9000 page views per day. However, my click-through rate in Google Adsense has always been very low.. it never goes beyond 0.5%, and some days it's as even as low as 0.1%!

So I only earn about $150 a month from around 200,000 page views per month... I feel like I could be doing better! I've worked really hard on my website and my dream is to earn my living from home (I'm unemployed right now).

I've already inquired about ad placement and such so that doesn't seem to be the problem... apparently image galleries in general have a low ctr. (Also I'd rather not post the link to my website here)

So my question is, because I have so many page views, but low ctr, would it be more worth it to be using CPM ads such as Casale Media or Valueclick, instead of Adsense? Would I be earning significantly more than $150 per month, or about the same, or less? And which CPM company would be the best for me to try?

I've researched CPM ads but everything seems to be mixed reviews so I couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. I'd only switch to CPM if it would significantly increase my earnings... otherwise I'll just stick with Adsense.

Thank you in advance for any help!

It depends on what kind of traffic you have. If i was running an art type site I would use zapunited. I'm running them on my site and see a 2-3% CTR

Well it is recommended to not have it above that otherwise Google gets suspicious for click fraud, it depends where your ads are placed though, if they're at the top of most/all of your pages then I guess it'll be fine, especially if they haven't sent you any messages about it.
