High Server Load / Need help

    Hey,

    I made a screen shot of my "top" on server which is showing
    average about 18, but I cant see any TOP processes which causing that except
    300 sleeping processes ? how to check what is causing that ?

    How many cpu's do you have? The load seems high, however, things like Idle Time and Wait Time are pretty good. I see one zombie apache process though. Have you tried tweaking apache and mysql yet?

    I think its dual cpu with 8 cores in total.
    It says 29 zombie processes and about 300 sleeping, any way to check those processes ?

    Try to kill the zombie process for reduce the server load.

    well, I can even restart server, my problem is to find the reason - what is causing that
