I have a .coms I've reg'd that I'm interested in feedback on in terms of value: Wichita Ks Foreclosures.com It's targeted at Foreclosed Home Sales in Wichita, Kansas. Foreclosed home sales is a huge niche at the moment when foreclosures are at record levels. Search Volume: According to G's Keyword tool this query "Whichita Ks Foreclosures" had 27,100 USA based searches for that EXACT query Last Month. Global average search volume is 33,100 exact searches/month. I'd be interested in feedback from the community on it's value. I'm thinking it's in the $xxxx range based on the search volume but where in that range I'm not sure - what do you think?
I've just reg'd it. it's value is really in the search traffic it's set up to target. the site is basically a skeleton at the moment is it's already ranked on page 2 of G for it's targeted Query. With even a little development it will be ranking high on pg1 and grabbing some of that 20K+ traffic every month.
Still... http://www.estibot.com/appraise.php...5b41d578979f&domain=wichitaksforeclosures.com - $0 And even with EstiBOT and stuff like that you need to SUBTRACT money. That's not what I am basing it on, but if it gets that many searches, probably $xxx
yeah I know est lists it at $0, but that's because it's breaking up the url incorrectly and records no search volume as a result. take a look at how it's spliting up the name and you'll see what I mean. If you use Esti's search tool and break up the query properly you'll get the correct search volume, but for some reason when you use the appraisal tool you can't manually split the url. I've used Esti's tool for other domains with much lower search volume domains (around 5-6K searches) with similar CPC and got estimates of $2500+ I agree that you have to take them with a grain of salt, and I'd always assume them to be on the high side.
That search volume has come straight out of Google's KW tool: [wichita ks foreclosures] 1 - 3 $2.69 27,100 33,100 Jun Add Exact Also from Estibot's search tool for Wichita Ks Foreclosures : (http://www.estibot.com/advertiser.php) [wichita ks foreclosures] 41,044 $2.08 USD
I used Google's Adwords keyword tool also and thought I had found a great keyword to target (45K local/90K global). Spent $9 on a domain name with the keywords in it, hosted it, and got ranked in the Top 10 within a week. Guess how much traffic the site gets? It rhymes with hero. To me, you need to confirm Google's numbers with another tool. Plus, ask yourself would anyone really search using this term? Google is out to sell ads so they will misrepresent their traffic results. It cost you and it cost me. It's a lesson learned, hopefully.
that's a great point - i actually started another thread on how reliable G's search figures are because I suspected they weren't accurate as well. The question is - where else can you compare the search stats? Estibot has a search volume tool which seems to give different results. Have you found another search tool you can use to cross check G's numbers? If so I'd be interested in it. Most tools seem to just pull numbers from G's tool I think.
