Im going crazy, ive spent money on ebooks for adsense help, spent months researching and im still stumped. First off I have a basic webdesign knowledge and a strong background in computer graphics, I have NVU and dreamweaver and am ready to build some sites once i find a few good niches. The problem is i cant find any info on noob basic seo facts. Like for example Ive been researching keywords on overture.com and checking for competition on google by using allinanchor:"then my keywords". Sofar I got a few good ideas but dont know what to do with the keywords. Do I use the keywords in my domain, or use them in metatags,or just use them over and over in my text content. Im basically ready to start building my sites I just dont feel like i know everything I should. Its frustrating cause im the type of person that needs and wants to know everything about things I do,hobies, ect. I dont want to spend weeks building a site and have it fail because i left out some vital step or info. Anyone with some info to get me going would be a blessing...Also links to good reads would be great too. thanks in advance
If you are really serious about learning about seo buy aaron wall's seo book. I think it is $79 but it has some great information and is organized information. I had a website for 2 years, and finally bought the book, since reading and applying what I learned my traffic has tripled. You could probably find all of the information for free by searching and reading forums, but the ebook is organized, and you can refer back to certain sections. It was well worth the $$$.
For my site I used Overture's keyword suggestion, found some keywords that got a decent amount of searches, yet weren't too competitive. The key was that for each phrase I researched I took into account how many sites were competing for that phrase, what their page rank and link popularity was, etc. Stuff like that, before I made my choice on what to optimize. Very recently, a keyword that I started optimizing for less than a few weeks ago somehow got me to the #5 position on Google, which surprised me. If you haven't read SEO Made Easy by Brad Callen, I'd recommend that, seeing as how it's free. That's what I used to start learning SEO.
use the keyword tool here digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion it has both wordtracker and overture remember that overture doesn't show plural. there can be a big difference in traffic based on the singular and plural of keywords.
deez i would suggest trying keywordcountry to find the best keywords. Im about to start a huge adsense project and that will be my main software
