I was wondering if anyone could help shed some light on this problem I'm having. I have a fairly high google ranking (organic 1-5 spot for all relevant keywords). The problem is that I checked out statbrain.com and it shows that I have approx. 150 visitors daily, while my competition has 500 daily an one even 3,000! I'm ranked higher than they are and they're getting more visitors. Does anyone have any idea why this could be and what I should to do try to improve my visitor count? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
so that means your title and also the meta description is not making searchers interested in visiting your site.Make an attractive title [suited to what they need]
Could also be a bad domain or no repeat visitors. Do you feel your site is as valuable as your competitors?
I would suggest using Google Analytics instead of Statbrain.com since Stat Brain is junk anyway! Google Analytic is free, easy to install and will give you the real number of visitors that your site receives daily and a ton of other information too! In fact you most likely don't even have a problem at all other than using stat brain for your comparison.
OK where to start... Firstly, as seopositions said, I would be using Google analytics or even Cpanel awstats (if you have cpanel) to gauge your website traffic as it is accurate. I assume though that you are using statbrain to gauge traffic from multiple sites. Second: You may rank higher than your competitors for the keyphrases you checked, but perhaps they rank higher in different country specific search engines, have more referrals from non SE sources, rank better in different search engines, Yahoo, Bing, Ask, and perhaps they have more pages and more keyphrases they rank for and drive more website traffic through their site due to simply ranking well for lot's of keyphrases you do not rank for. Lot's of reasons really. Do a site:theirwebsite.com and see how many site pages they have, this will let you know if they are likely to be driving additional traffic through their site simply by having lots of juicy content. If however you are not getting the desired clicks from your current rankings that you feel you should do then you need to look at your page titles and meta descriptions to ensure what is being shown in the SE's is what your visitors need to see to persuade them to hit your link and not the one above or below it.
There are a hundreds or thousands of reasons that this could be the case... Perhaps they are getting most of their traffic from keywords you do NOT rank as well for, Perhaps you are targeting the wrong keywords, Perhaps the snippets being shown at Google for your pages suck and are reducing your click-thru-rate, etc. the list goes on. Hard to say w/out URLs and example keyword phrases.
I beg to differ that google analytics gives the real number of visitors. It requires a javascript to load and with some it gets blocked, intentionally or unintentionally.
Google Analytics is definitely the best traffic tracking program available(how could it not be it was developed by the richest internet company in the world and is constantly being upgraded). Check your competitors websites on alexa.com. Check their 'clickstream' tab, and see what sites are listed in 'upstream sites' to see what sites are sending them traffic. It might be the case that they are getting their traffic from somewhere other than google search results.
Its probably your keyword. You may rank higher that your competitors based on one keyword ..but thats not the 'money' keyword. Your competitors probably rank higher on another keyword that brings in their traffic. Check out other keyword alternatives and see where you rank on those
Is your keyword not well?I mean your keyword is not interest by people.Maybe you need to do a research about which keyword you should to promotion.
In order to attract visitors, you need to have quality content!.. In needs to be interesting also.. Its not just about how you rank on google but also how people love your site because of the content and informations they are getting.
First you should check you traffic in google analytics anymore you must focus on your targeted keywords you can check your top competitors targeted keywords you can get idea over there. i believe you will obtain huge traffic from this small strategy
I think statbrain.com is not showing right result. I have checked all my sites but it showing wrong result. Make habit to use google analytics for measuring traffic of your site.
There is nosense about some truth its called unique content without it every rich people could have no1 at keywords.
That is truth. The hight SE rank is not guarantee of good traffic. Mayne you need to involve some additional advertising ways and methods?
try to optimize as much as you can title tag and description tag since these content shows up on the SERPs... try to catch the visitors eyes
It could be your title and description tags that are the problem or it could be that people are just repeat visitors on your competitors websites. You shouldn't be using terrible tools like that anyway, very inaccurate.
If you are not getting traffic off high position, that means you are targeting the wrong keywords. Btw, where does the competition information come from? Re statbrain: I wouldn't rely on things like that.
