High rates paid for quality work - are you familiar with Linux?

I need someone to write a large and top quality piece on Linux Laptops. No specific size to the article but, as a rough guide, 5K-10K words.

First, you would need to demonstrate not just competent writing to a very high standard but also significant experience with various flavours of Linux. This is very important. Don't PM me unless you can prove both.

The article will explain why the reader should have Linux on their laptops and what's the best way to achieve it. It will cover the main choices available and provide supporting and dissenting arguments for each. Visitors will be pointed to resources where they can buy a Linux laptop and where they can get help switching from Windows to Linux.

You will need to identify related topics that visitors are most likely to need further help on e.g. dual booting, wireless networking, LiveCD/USB type booting (with particular emphasis on Knoppix) and security. The chosen candidate will supply these topics for approval before starting work on the article itself.

No reinventing of the wheel. Where there is an exceptional resource already available you'll point readers to that rather than rewording content from that source. The article needs to be one that doesn't date easily as I wish to use it for the next several years.

British or American English acceptable. I will pay well, above the usual rates seen on these forums.

Quality is paramount. If your PM suggests to me that your mastery of English is more of an aspiration than a fact... I'll just delete it.
