    Hey Everyone,

We all know that high quality back links are king in this game but what are high quality back links what is the difference between just normal back links and the ones that are considered high quality?

I have some ideas but I just wanted to see what everyone elses throughts were.

If your backlink is from HighPR site, with having less backlinks on that site to other sites, and also link is with your targeted keyword as link text, this may consider as a good quality links.

Good quality links must be from the site whos PR is more than yours.

Any link is a good link--from sources such as directory submissions and press releases--that includes the keyword in the anchor text. Don’t be too focused on what type of link or its source.

You can consider the .gov and .edu backlinks are high quality. Because the .gov and .edu sites often have serious, high quality content, they often have high PR too; so, backlinks from them are very expensive.

I'd say the difference between "normal" and "high quality" backlinks has to do with the backlink source. Of course, there are other considerations as well. For example, the search engines will give more weight to a link that appears in the body of relevant content are, for example, better than links that appear near or after said content.

Links in reputable sites are good. Esp if your competitors are there. I prefer content worthy sites like blogs, forums, relevant content sites.

These would be links coming from real websites, not the ones which are created for the sheer purpose of building links.

High Quality Link = Relevant topic to your site, trusted site (aged, strong bl profile, etc), in content link (not on the sidebar or footer, right inside a paragraph of text, preferably within the first paragraph or two)

Low Quality Link = Everything that doesn't fit into high quality links

Exception: For whatever reason.....dmoz.org, business.com, yahoo directory and botw.org directories.

In addition to the above comments, a high quality backlink should also consist of QUALITY content with correct grammar and original content. It's beneficial to you in the long run.

(Opinion) If you obtain a link from a PR0 website that's new but has incorporated quality content, updates regularly, and looks like it is going to be a hard hitter, your site will be on the boat when the waters rise. I would say it's good to have a 'early' link on a website that is going to rise in the SE's.

Hope this helps a little bit. =0

If your backlinks from high pr site and the site only has your link, this can call high quality backlinks.

In link building, quality is more important than quantity.
If you can get a one PR9 quality backlink, it is much better than get 10000PR0 backlink

All I know is that the pr of your baclinks count the relevance of it counts and how many outbound links it has come into play when ranking.

Quality backlink in the sense, it should be related to your niche.
