High quality and unique content is important for PR

    One of my websites is less than 4-month old and another website is more than 2-year old. I update the younger website every week once with quality and unique tutorial articles and the other one is updated with rewritten articles 1-2 times a week. But the younger website got higher PR with Google Panda.
    So, I suggest every SEOer write useful and unique posts for your websites. :eek:

    Absoulately right,based on content only PR and Bounce rate only PR will be updated.

    Obviously both have importance that is why is so called "Content is king". You must update it regularly so that the PR remains in its position.

    Just write the content so people link back to your site naturally ( As reference link)

    I have done the same and increased the PR.

    Agreed. I have also noticed similar results for few of my clients websites. Simple reason is difference between unique articles and rewritten articles.

    I keep updating on a daily base.
    However, I find it quite hard to keep further improve the PR of my site after its PR reached 4.
    I guess, good content are only the basic step to do. After your site reach certain PR level, say PR4, you need to add other SEO approaches, such as creating link wheel, into consideration to make it increase.

    Yes Google panda does do that, however if you think that you can get high PR just by updating highly optimized and unique content, you might want to give it a second thought.
    Panda penalizes the websites which contains the content written just for SEO purpose! If you want to update your content make it more fun to read(with proper information offcourse).
    The more that websites content gets shared online higher the ranking you will get and eventually it will give you a good PR.
