High Profile Domain (sos.com) For Sale - Do I Need a broker?

I am trying to help my biz partner sell his domain name (www.sos.com).

He believes with the right marketing and branding campaign, any corporation or marketing firm can potentially make use of this url big time. Since it's only 3 letters, would be good to use for a shorten service (ie. Sony Online Services).

We're approached several brokers but all of turned us down due to the asking price. I've read about deceptive practices with Sedo and other firms and prefer to avoid that.

Does anyone have suggestion for a broker who can get the job done or even a marketing firm?

He is asking for $6mm obo, it actually be used to his tech consultant firm's initials. Again, he's targeting a marketing/branding firm or broker who can adamantly express the potential value (as everyone mentioned) of having a shorten url for a long business without compromising the actual name. Launching a major campaign involving mobile where a short url is key to success or a new service by a big corp.

thanks for any suggestions for a broker or firm.

He should put on a Q & A site on it, it's like SOS -- help me (us).

At least, that's what I would do after reading this: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/6-reason...o-in-2011-despite-googles-farmer-update-12160

I think the question about a broker has been answered, just wanted to point out that there's a lot more than just a shortener for businesses ;)
