I just started my blog about a month ago (the one in my sig). One of my posts has a page rank of 6 and the home page has a page rank of 5. How is this possible? I was under the impression that anything over 3 was fairly difficult to obtain. PR 6 Post: http://www.atheistmind.com/dont-tell-your-parents-youre-an-atheist-until-after-christmas-heres-why
More proof that PR is bullshit that Google pulls out its' ass. Nothing personal, but you're post ain't that great
Hah, I know it really wasn't a great post. It was a response to a question so I quickly grabbed the youtube video and posted it. Didn't expect near the traffic it received.
Yeah this one is weird, I looked at your backlinks and none of them are that strong. I jumped from PR0 to PR3 on some strong PR4 back links. Our Site launched November 1st. and has had what i would call 2 PR updates, One in early december from unranked to PR0 then again on NYE. Google is erratic if you ask me
I found only 11 links of different domains showing to this post, no one of them is higher than PR3. So it it strange your post is showing a PR of 6. But maybe you had a PR 7 link in the past.
" what a lucky guy, keep up. higher pr means more money. " Dude where the weck did you heard that? Anyway, try to check on google your rankings, if you are ranking fairly higher than pages from older domains with some backlinks built to them you can definitely proof it's being count has a PR5.
This actually happened to me on one of my blogger blogs. Soon after it launched the PR was 4. Soon dropped to 2 which is where it has stayed since Funny because now I have loads of links to it and a good traffic. It is also doing well in the SERPs so not sure what this PR thing is all about
I stick to my idea that it isn't about links but rather the quality of your content which obviously will build links.
What I think it happened was that you got more outbound links on the site and that leaked the PR out of it.
nice one. Looks like google like your post a lot. But yes, it is a bit strange having a huge pr jump like that. Was the domain previously registered and used? like an expired domain?
What, I have a PR2 page with no backlinks at all. I had about 20 of them, than those sites got shutdown, and google still count them on their system.
As far as I know the domain is new, I didn't wait for it to expire or anything. I wouldn't know where to check if it was previously registered long ago though. I just hope it stays this way, but sadly i doubt it will .
Lucky you man... This is the first time that i see a 1 month old site got a PR5 and an inner Page PR6. That prove Like Lexiseek said :"that PR is bullshit that Google pulls out its' ass"
