high PR links, how fast

if you get a high PR link, like 7 or 8, should you see a jump in your site's Serps as soon as google crawls the page? Or is there a delay? Like if you got a PR 8 link, and it's not nofollow or anything, and google crawled your site a few times over the next few days, but your spot didn't change, would you think that's normal?

I agree with you Groovystar, but all link should be dofollow and on backlink page outbound link should be less than 100. This is not my thinking, it is google guideline.

    It qualifies on both counts.

so you do think it is normal for my site not to move up at all even with this?

I don't think it would be instantaneous , better keep on trying to get more links so the result is more visible , getting a couple of links wont help much.

PR was nothing then and it is nothing now. :p

I don't need to ping, Google has long since indexed both sites.

I heard an update hasn't happened though so that's no surprise to me.

Ok, well if it is not instantaneous that's good news! Thank you for the help, guys!
