High PR will not help you to get high traffic... however some linkbuilding and Social Medai Optimization would help.. :)

You need to know to whom the blog is for and do some niche research. That will surely help

As stated, the higher pr is not enough, you need to rank in the search engines for keywords and phrases.

I think you need to give more exposure to the site. In the eyes of google it is highly ranked which is very good. You can perhaps drive traffic through making it popular. For traffic I think we need constant work-it will lessen if we stop generating it.

The keyword phrases you are targeting has very little traffic. Your PR has nothing to do with traffic.

I don’t think that your PR has anything to do with web traffic. Analyse your keywords once again and do some link building exercise… :)

You have discovered what many webmasters have been screaming for some time. PR means nothing when it comes to making money.
Worry more about exchanging links that bring targeted traffic, than those that pass on juice.

You need to go back and determine who you are trying to attract...your target audience, and get on places where they are.

Do as much work as you could do to improve your on-page and off-page optimization. Not only this you should also submit your articles to article directories and web 2.0 sites. And if you have a blog it could also bring you much traffic. Just be creative on that. Even you can use adwords to be on the top on the search results which is even better, again you have to be creative here. You can use many strategies to bring you traffic.

High PR is not enough! It will be good if you can increase the traffic.. For ex: by doing seo, link building or others!

First of all, i would like to make you clear that, there is no relation between traffic and PR. If your website having good PR this is good but it wont draw more traffic to your website.
If you want to get more traffic..you need to do home work on keywords..I would like to suggest you to target more relevant keywords having good search count.

let me know if you need any help

    all the best

if your keywords if not a keyword that people often search, then high pr is useless.
try to aim for keywords that people usually search for.

That's good suggestion but for such content it would be difficult to find internet savvy people around, you need to focus more on NGO and Government organization.

    Hi Venky,

I checked out your site. I mean no offense by what follows, but constructive criticism!!

Okay, it's about sharing water management knowledge, but seriously, who would want to read it? It is full of trendy management jargon that does not address ordinary people, despite its fine claims:

    About the India Water Portal

"The India Water Portal is an open, inclusive, web-based platform for sharing water management knowledge amongst practitioners and the general public. It aims to draw on the rich experience of water-sector experts, package their knowledge and add value to it through technology and then disseminate it to a larger audience through the internet.

"We see the knowledge asymmetry amongst stakeholders of the water sector as a critical factor hampering the sustainable management of our water resources. The Portal seeks to address this asymmetry by sharing best practices, advocating sustainable approaches, bringing transparency of public data and information, and by spreading awareness.

"The ultimate objective of the Portal is to address equity and sustainability issues in the Water Sector. Therefore, we are actively pursuing alternate outreach methods like print media, radio and workshops, to ensure this knowledge reaches those on the ground who need it most. We believe that the India Water Portal has the potential to catalyse change on a large-scale by this sharing of knowledge leading to improved practices and informed debates."

That is only the first three paragraphs! NOBODY WILL READ IT even if they ever find it. The sentences are way toooo long and packed with conference jargon. Ugh!

open, inclusive, web-based platform = er, a website?

It aims to draw on the rich experience of water-sector experts, package their knowledge and add value to it through technology and then disseminate it to a larger audience through the internet. Try: "This website will help {TARGET AUDIENCE IN PLAIN ENGLISH - USE A PRIME KEYWORD PHRASE} to learn about {WATER USE IN INDIA (or equivalent keyword phrase that ordinary people in India might use when searching for information about WATER)}."

Make your website SPEAK CLEARLY to its intended target audience. I still have no idea what the point of it is.

    Hope that helps!

It depends on many factors such as on page optimization and off page optimization. If your selected keywords does not match the keywords of the users who search on search engines, try researching keywords in Wordtracker free tool or Google adwords to find your niche and try optimizing with those keywords. They must be both on page and off page.
