Not sure if this was mentioned much, but anyone have any insight on how these keyword lists are compiled? (other than intensive guesstimation through tests)
that is exactly what I do for a living ... we originally bought lists of the search terms people requested . This original list is several million keywords long and cost 2200 usd. Then we parse the data and remove all non-sense and non-english terms and any duplication. Then the real fun begins we send the data manually throught the bid value system and store the values. we remove any keywords with no value and any low value reverse order multiple keywords ( "property management software" would be kept but "software management property" would be droped). we also update the list weekly to keep it current. If you want to try out a free new tool that is in Bata try www.symbiotic.com bid value and enter any keyword ... if it's value is under $5 it may not show it but it will give you alternatives that are over $5
it is in Bata or Beta? Just checking. Seems like alot of work. I feel that the lists have a limited lifetime because of eventual saturation.
Wow I was tired beta not bata heheheeheh thanks for catching that. Your absolutly right it is a lot of work but it saves people the time if they just want to check the value of a keyword quickly or find some higher paying alternatives. I agree with you a static lists would have a limited life span fortunately we update our list weekly and infuse it with new searched keywords.
