are there any niches within real estate that pay well. we run a real estate agent directory and have been optimizing our site to rank well for keywords pertaining to agents by state, city and us region.

What are some good keywords that aren't either loan or insurance related?

Yeah, those keywords suck because all the sites that are built around them are spammy MFAs

Here are a couple well-paying keywords around which original andinteresting content can be made:

    Forex, LSAT, MCAT and Stocks

Out of curiosity, what's the best way to find this kind of thing out? I make plenty of money online, but really not much at all from things like Adsense. I'd certainly like to increase that, but I'm more concerned with content than keywords. I write on what I know (marketing, small business, consulting, freelance work, and independent music). Would it be best just to stick w/ the topics I know and can write competently on, and try to find higher-paying keyword phrases that fall within those topics, or is it really more viable to model an entire site around a keyword you know nothing about? Personally I'd always lean to content and expertise. But I'd also like the sites' incomes to justify the time I spend on them. How do you reach a happy balance when looking for decent keywords like these?

    Thanks!

    Jenn,

You can use programs like Overture or AdWords to try and find the best paying keywords for your niche ;)

Thanks Tyler. I already use Overture when deciding on keywords for specific articles, so it's not like I'm ignoring keywords altogether. :) I generally just use the keyword suggestion tool. Is there something else, or is it just basically the most searched for terms bring the highest adsense revenues?

These keywords dont pay as high as people think. Google takes a BIG cut. You will never get a 20 dollar click

I wish their was a site that you could test a Keyword, to see how much it is going to give you.

No way . That words are dead. MFA's will grow on your websites if you start with that keywords.

They arent dead yet, probably wont die in near future. Building sites areound that keywords is easy, getting traffic to those is not. All this MFA's I am sure doesnt get any decent traffic or make any real money.

I do have a more detailed list on the URL in my siggy. Again, this is not a silver bullet, I must warn you :)
