    Does having a high page rank mean great potential for free traffic through search results?

    not really; traffic depends on your contents first and then page rank;

    PR is just a number norhing more

    High pr not equals traffic

    High serps may result in a higher pr but that's not a rule ...

    For exemple a pr3 site (mine) rank PR5+ sites for a competitive keyphrases

    PR doesn't mean traffic. Actually, my traffic has decreased since my PR increased. No advertising doesn't help though. :rolleyes:
