My site has recently (and surprisingly) been doing exceptionally well on Windows Live Search Engines - consistently landing high up on particular phrases. Obviously, I'm pretty happy about this. However, it seems Google have not been so kind - even when entering the same phrases. Why is this? Does it just take longer to get higher up on Google or are there just more sites listed? I'm very surprised by the success so I'm not too bothered that Google don't have me so high up yet - the Live listing is a bonus. Just curious about how it works.
goog takes lot of time to come up in right keywords, atleast 2-3 months, your backlinks must be powerful for you to get quick top positions. i had been working for my site for about 2 months then it came to page 2 for google and finally now it tops 2nd position.
the search engines all have different rankings factors...what it takes to rank high on msn is not the same for google
Thanks for the help. Surely getting listed on Windows Live so quickly is a good sign that I'm doing something right?
Keep doing what you are doing, because once you start ranking on one search engine the others are soon to follow suit, it may take 3-6 months before you see high ranking on the other but it is good sign to rank high on at least one. Just keep at it.
Excitement turns to passion... Passion turns to determination... Determination turns to sucess... You only fail when you give up!
Depending on the age of your website. You could still be in the "sandbox" and that is the reason you are not ranking for Google.
In view google gives some prority on domain age and number of good quality back links and to take position in google unless it is less competitive keywords, it will take some months to come up in good ranking.
You know it. No its OK, definitely not in the Sandbox.. I'm doing OK with Google it's just that I've done really, really well in Live.com. No worries then.
