    Hi,

I ran an adwords campaine last night on one site I wanted to get some more traffic on, I used the keyword suggester inside adwords and the site is targetting the correct market.. Visitors tend to stay at least a few minutes and view multiple pages before leaving... my concern is on my adsnese, i have a CTR of 14.x percent..

Normally in the past I always focused on keeping it below 2% so I wouldnt get any hassles from google..

The site is a working legit site with valid content.

Any suggestions on what to do?

yeah ? isn't that you're supposed to be happy about it ? not everyone could get CTR more than 10%

I dont do a lot with adsense, but I remember hearing a few years ago that anything above 2-3% CTR gets your account flagged?

I normally just put adsense on sites I sell to show potential buyers where ads can be placed,etc.. I dont actively persue adsense earnings.

What baffles me is that people get the actual idea that high CTR is bad for you.

C'mon, snap out of it. You want to artificially decrease your CTR? That's one of the dumbest things I heard in months. Be happy it's high, go ahead and push it higher. As long as you are not breaking Google's TOS, you're good to go.

Just what I heard a long time ago.. I never paid attention to my CTR much before since I wasnt doing it as an income, just a way to show ad placement on sites I sold.

The CTR is above 15.x now.

If your ctr is below 15% I would be taking a serious look at your site and traffic, its not high at all in fact the norm for many many people.

When it tops 35% is when you want to be looking more closely

    Thanks :)

I did notice on Sept11 (of all days) I had a 54% CTR, I emailed google letting them know of potential click happy moron, never heard back from them regarding it. I had no idea what site it was as I never bothered with channels since it was mostly sites for sale.

This is simply not true. If you are not breaking Google's TOS why wouldn't they want you to succeed with AdSense with a high CTR. Fact is Google makes money when you make money and they have a vested interest in you doing well.

I would just email google and let them know that you ran a highly targetted ad campagne that resulted in a traffic surge and high CTR, and that you realize that the jump might look suspicious and would like to know what documentation you need to provide them to show that the traffic and clicks are legitimate.

Why would you purposely keep your CTR below 2% ? Google doesn't care what CTR you have. If your CTR were something like 1000%, it *might* indicate click fraud -- but not 14% or even 140%.

    Hi,

Just something I read a few years ago.. Never bothered getting too much into adsense or anything and only put it on sites to show future site owners of my sites for sale how ads can be placed.. I used to have a YPN account and only logged in once in about 8 months..

CTR is based on ads impressions and click. All I concern is eCPM :)
