Can anyone tell me why is adsense being so unfair to me?! So I started this website almost four months ago and I've been building nice traffic (average 18,000 visits per day for now). I got excited when Adsense approved me and I just joined last January 7th, so I'm kinda new.At first my CPC was around $0.2 to $0.3. Highest was $0.41. I thought it was great but I had LOW CTR. Could hardly touch 0.2% plus my page impressions were still under 10,000. So I tried to manage my Ad zone and voila! I get 0.2% to 0.3% CTR. I get around 40 to 50 clicks per day.THEN NOW I get low CPC! It's frustrating! I can't past $0.2!!! $0.17 tops! I'm expecting to gain more traffic, I have the target 40,000 views for February. What would make things different when I work harder to build traffic yet my CPC is getting lower!? It's like all my efforts are useless! Why's Adsense being so cruel to me what's wrong, I'm depressed :'(
You will find that on most days them more traffic you get the lower your CTR will be but you will have a nice CPC. Then when your CTR is high you will get a low CPC. There are few days A month where both CTR and CPC are both high. Just hang in there...
It also depends on where your traffic is coming from. It is all coming from the same country or several? I had a similar issue a few months ago, that my CPC was low but then I analyzed the countries that were clicking on my ads, and even if the general CPC was over $1, for some countries it was like 20 cents, go figure.
you can either accept it or leave it. Sorry to say that you cant complain that your CPC is drop and ask adsense to increase it
Since you have huge amount traffic on your website, why not attract advertisers to advertise on your website? Do not rely with Google Adsense, there are lot of options for you to earn money with that huge traffic on your website per day. Just maintain the traffic on your website, you will surely have more clicks with high CPC, just be patient.
The only way you can control CPC with Adsense is to tailor your content so the ads delivered are in a higher cpc range. Usually this means devoting your site to a single niche or keyword group. If your cpc is low and you can't change it you might want to try an ad server like Open X. With Open X you can pick and choose your ads, split test and then run only winners.
Maybe Google applied the "Smart Pricing" algorithm to your site? I'm not an expert, you can read this article (it's my article, nor my site, nor am I affiliated with Norma Rickman in any way, I just happen to find it extremely informative): redmenacemarketing[dot]com/179/what-is-adsense-smart-pricing-and-how-to-avoid-it/ (I can't post links yet as I'm new here, just edit the link above; I hope mods don't get mad at me for posting it as I'm just trying to help Another ide, if you've got so many views, why don't you apply to a network that allows CPM advertising? Maybe that way you can earn more than with a CPC network like Google Adsense. I'd give it a try for a month or two, see if results are better, and get back to Adsense.
I know it can be frustrating, but Google is probably not being unfair. Low CPC can be a big problem with certain niches. I remember I had a network of movie websites that drew a significant amount of traffic but the CPC was terrible. Try to stick with niches with CPC of over $1 on average. Cheers Phil
Do some keyword research with the Adwords tool and try to write content about the higher CPC keywords. You can also review your current keywords in there to check there CPC.
The OP is crying for nothing, his problem is not the CPC but his CTR which is so low that it is kind of suspicious about the nature of his site.. But anyway, the OP never bothered to reply since january, so why trying to help him anyway.. He can figure it by himself or improve his politeness and social skills!!!
Well this site might be able to help you with your Adsense issues as far as low CPC or CTR goes, its pretty much dedicated to that kind of topic. http://www.increasectr.com/5-tips-fix-low-adsense-ctr.htm If that doesn't help you out then feel free to check out other posts or Google. Don't flame me for this topic being old, its spot 5 on Google so ofcourse I am going to comment.
Adsense is always finding new ways "not" to pay people. Remember their new "adjusted earnings" addition? Where apparently you can see you've made $40 in a month from Adsense. But those are their "estimated" earnings, you see. And their "adjustments" can knock that number down to $15 to $20 dollars total for the month. Hilarious.
I have always been paid by Adsense, at the most it might be 10-20$ short but when your making hundreds who cares about small change? Besides some of those clicks might of been invalid anyway.. I see it as free money for blogging really so I guess I can't complain.
