High CTR = ban?

    One of my sites is experiencing a higher CTR than normal. If your CTR gets too high can google ban you? Is there an unwritten limit? like 25%? or 40% ?

    if ur CTR is high the google will surely flag ur site and then inspect the reason. if you are not doing anything foul then do not worry

    It doesn't matter how high your CTR, earnings, etc jump, as long as your traffic is legitimate. If you are getting traffic from sources that Adsense considers problematic (like Myspace Bulletins, traffic exchanges, auto surf programs, etc), then yes, you will not only get in trouble, but probably banned.

    High CTR != ban.
    With a high CTR, google will take a closer look at your website but would certainly not ban you if they do not suspect fraud.

    Why do you say that? Do you know that? I would stop speculating. A high CTR means NOTHING.

    You should be happy with high ctr if you are not doing anything wrong.

    I emailed google about my high ctr just to be safe, and they look at my site and said everything was ok and that if any of the clicks are invalid they will remove them and adjust my earnings.

    They always say that. Emailing them is NOT a cure-all from banishment no matter what anyone tells you. I know a dozen publishers who have emailed me when their Myspace sites got a ton of traffic due to bulletins, and they all emailed Adsense about it, and they all got banned anyway.

    I really don't understand why they see myspace bulletin traffic on a myspace site as bad traffic, if anything it is targetted traffic.

    So basicly, google only is happy when your site is getting low numbers from search engines?

    Say you rank no.1 for a term that is searched dailey, say your site is a myspace resource, and you rank no.2 when you search for "myspace" on google -- that will bring in 1000's of click a day.

    Now another site earns the same traffic through bulletins, they get discriminated?

    I dont understand this -- sending out bulletins is a type of advertising, its like handing out leaflets on the highstreet. It might be againest myspace terms -- so that could be why google doesnt like it. But what about actually paying for a legitiment burst of traffic to your site -- you can get loads from a one off payment to ebaums world -- 100% legal, all offical, how can google ban your account for that, its legit advertising. if you get 1000's of visitors, that was the idea of the advertising.

    Sorry tcr, not moaning at you, just adding my bit.

    Cheers.
