I have a blog where I post twice a week and it enjoys moderate traffic of between 20-60 visitors a day. I have a heavy bounce rate on the blog. Though people spend over 1 min on the site reading the posts, their involvement is very low. The bounce rate is in early 80%!! Could this be anything other than the content of the blog? One thing I can think of is they don't enjoy the content enough to comment on it, or I am not offering enough to discuss on, but could this be anything else as well? I believe I am not doing too bad on promoting from the number of visitors on a personal blog. The PR has recently gone up from 1 to 2 as well. Thanks, -t
You content may be very good, but the visitor always stays with what he needs, so he wants to look at the similar topics instead of good topics. So, try to be narrow with your topics so that you can have very good bounce rate, lower I mean.
You might also have a really slow loading blog - by the time it loads up the visitor is fed up and decides not to open new pages.
another possible reason is the keywords you used don’t correspond with the content of its landing page
Is your blog design user friendly? As someone stated - you need to provide a url to get some feedback. Personally me when I come to a blog with black background, yellow text and bunch of flashy banners - I leave. Without seeing your actual blog I provided extreme example but you get the point
Well I advice you to put Random Posts or Popular post in Sidebar as well as put Related Post at the end of your post! It will surly help to decrease your Bounce rate! Also put a good content which attract readers to check other posts!
Bounce Rate: If your blog layout not perfect linking like which you want to display thats in backhand and which the viewers watching that something different so you need to perfect linking and good layout with unique content. than your viewers stay in your site and you will get also unique traffic.
Look at it like this: Good posts, good seo so the landing page will be correct, include simmilar articles on the bottom of every post as well as in the sidebar, try and see what people are searching, and check if it corelates with your content.
All points taken. I cannot provide the URL because of the forum rules but as soon as I am allowed to, I will. I will try a few of these steps and post again.
