So I have now created a redirect from http to https just to cover my basis.

I also am trying to address site speed. From what I have read I believe it is a factor in ranking as well. Im trying to make my site faster (my scores on pingdom, gtmetrics and googles page speed were horrid - In tackling this issue, I have now run into some new problems with render blocking in an attempt to fix my site.

Since it isn't directly SEO related but is related to my issue here, I have created another thread in the wordpress section in hopes that someone can help.

The thread is located here if anyone thinks they might be able to assist as well: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/fixing-render-blocking.2860835/

I just didn't want to make this thread convoluted.

High bounce rate will also affect your drop in rankings because some of the visitors will not comeback in your site so obviously it will drop your traffic in some respected source traffic areas.

You might have had some bot type attack.
Maybe someone trying to promote fake views or traffic..
I wouldn't worry too much about it, just make sure your page is loading correctly on all platforms and browsers.

I wonder if you are running any paid campaigns, make sure to use the right keywords. Monitor the traffic and why are they coming to your site. The pages and content should be relevant. Do have a check on UI/UX of the site, you can use tools like hotjar and pageview.com for checking the sessions and reasons for high bounce rate. Website optimization is also important in this regard.

Here is the common reasons for that:
    1. Slow page load times. People give up after 4 seconds.
    2. Bombarding visitors with alternative offers and intrusive advertisements
    3. Visitors seeing something unexpected and unrelated to what they came for.
    4. Making visitors dig for what they came for with content that’s not skimmable.
    5. Sending the wrong people to your landing pages.
    6. Filling your landing with poor grammar and terrible spelling mistakes.
    7. Producing a lot of low quality content that’s hard to understand.
    8. Making your landing pages hard to read.
    9. Making your landing pages ugly.
    10. Making the visitor feel like they are being scammed.
