is there a relation between alexa-rank and weight?

Alexa is way too useless to use in any practical environment.

It is based on lunar cycles as that is the only method that can't be manipulated.

 

Before you ask, it's only based on PR and pagecount. Combined with how many ads you run.

Some claim weight depends on the weather but that hasn't been proven yet.

 

Hi tops... I respect your opinion but I have to disagree with you. Adbrite and other companies are using alexa to price out and payout links now.

I hear alot about how easy alexa is to manipulate but ive never seen anyone provide proof. Its much like the 302 redir google cheat... every newbie is jumping on the bandwagon saying OHH THATS IT!!

Which is why i ask you cause i know you know what your talking about.... can you provide some some sites that are cheating?

I have some sites that get alot of traffic and there alexa rank is low. I also have people contact me for advertising because I am in the top few thousand.

I definatly would say its not practical. I have had alot of people contact me because of my alexa ranking.

 

my experience is that the weight is calculated something like this:
