Looking for your opinion of important SEO. Yes, I know we should all follow the basics eg: Average 55 character Title bar, short file names, name your images properly etc. But what I want to know is what do you put as the most important of advanced SEO for Google. I will start. 1. Inbound Links 2. Unique Content 3. Site size of minimum 30 pages 4. Keyword ratio at 3% to 4% for main word. 1% for secondary words. Maximum 700 WPP words per page. 5. RSS Feeds Sometimes I am guilty of not putting much emphasis on inbound links because it is difficult to do and is a pain in the butt. I want to know if I should spend more time on inbound links and less on unique content? Opinions Please.
Inbound links are 90% of what helps you rank in Google. Without them you will never get top rankings. Site size, RS feeds and keyword ratios have nothing to do with it.
Don't forget about relations between those points - for example links to content - relevancy. Working with links only can make more trouble than help in SERP.
On this occasion i disagree, i have 2 backlinks for one of my sites, and it is in the Top 10 for lots of competitive key terms in a very competitive market, any ideas why?
I examined Google ranking attributes in a research thesis and found that on-page attributes account for at least 60% of the rank. So, less than 40% of rank could come from inbound links.
I disagree with everything stated in this thread so far. The first question you need to ask is: how many phrases are you trying to rank for?
RSS feeds don't impact rankings much...and google doesn't pay much attention to ratio unless you overdo it
No its definetly not old and its targetting the same terms as all the big sites, big meaning big as its a financial site. Mind you im happy
Yes, we all know that. I started this thread to talk about advance SEO hierarchy. Not stuff that beginners should know.
How is unique content advanced? Writing descriptive titles is advanced, writing a title isn't however. Also kw density varies dependant on things dunno what but all my sites seem to have very different densitys, however all have good ranks .
I'd rather start the list from insite seo, such as title, header tags, etc...before you even complete your insite seo optimization where in the hell are you going to get inbound links? Many competitors that have spend $k on inbound links have been beaten because their insite seo optimization sucked big time.
I've found that backlinks are needed to take sites to PR levels above 3/4. However for niche keywords with low competition/volume, content and keyword density is key and backlinks may not be needed so much.
