Hi again I have a reseller account and host this fellas websites, he has 3 websites, I have all 3 of his domains in my NameCheap account. He wants his 3 web sites to look as if they are unrelated to each other. Obviously I can change the WHOIS contact info but I'm pretty sure I cannot change the nameserver info, is this correct? He is saying this: Is this correct? :???:
You can purchase Whois protection to hide those whois information. Though, the name server will still be showed. But if it is a hosting (refer to your reseller account) it is normal to have different domains using same name servers. I am not sure if enom offers anything to completely hide the whois information (not sure if there is even such a service) Though I could be wrong. Whois protections for each domain is good enough in my opinion. Good luck.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I use the same nameserver for the 3 domains but he is moaning about that. I'm just going to say ENOM cannot do anything about this. If you want it hidden then host it elsewhere.
For each domain can't you change the nameservers to 'virtual' nameservers thru Cpanel or whatever panel you're using? You can assign domains to virtual nameservers at NameCheap but first have to set them up on the host. IE: the nameservers for hisdomain can be changed to ns1/ns2.hisdomain.com. I do this for most of my domains but can't change the IPs. To truly hide the relationship he has to host on different IPs and/or different hosts.
I believe a reseller account doesn't have an option of creating private nameserver for each and every domain names. You'd have to have Master Reseller account to be able to create private nameserver for each domain (though, you'd still have to contact the services providers unless you own the server) I might be wrong though.
3 websites = 6 nameservers required. So ask your provider if they can host ur clients site with pvt. nameservers and you will pay for it, ofcourse it will come at a cost maybe around 12$ or 10$ for all 3 . Regards
