In the link details you have the option to encrypt and to hide tracking codes in the link. When should I use these options?

As far as encrypting links is concerned, it is always a good idea to do this.

Every CJ link that is not encrypted shows your CJ ID in them. To me this is equivalent to sharing your SSN or EIN with strangers.

There are people out there who make a living highjacking affiliate commissions on the web, so don't give them a chance to make you a target.

    I hope this info helps.

Yes, that's very helpful. What about hiding the tracking code?

I usually encrypt my links. Curious, how would someone hijack commissions using your PID?

As for hiding a tracking code, just use a cloaker.

nobody could hijack your commissions, they could get your account banned by taking your code and creating links with it and posting links in ways that break the TOS of CJ.

Either use prosper202 or tracking202, they have this built in.

I agree, I don't think that anyone could hijack commissions. But regarding getting your account banned, could people not still do this even if the links were encrypted. They don't necessarily need the PID, they could just take the encrypted link and post it in a way that breaks the TOS?

there are numerous cloakers around on the web.. but personally i use a domain forwarding. If you have a domain then create subs and direct it :).. whatever it is, its better to use the free cloakers you find online
