Hiding the google adsense url. Is this bad or good?

When creating google ads it is possible to hide the url making the url color the same color as the background color. Is this practise against the google adsense terms of service? I have seen sites do this but I am unsure if it is the right thing to do?

You will definitely get your website banned from Google AdSense network by doing that.

pretty sure you can't anymore - i think they test the background color against the url color and if the 2 blend too much, they automatically set the url color to black.

Some ad units don't dispaly the url at all - like a 468 x 60 text banner.

Companies like google will ban you without question for bending the rules.

Rules exist to break them. Try it on some secondary site and if your attempt will work out - use your experience to earn as much as you can.

I tried to do it in the past before learning that it was against the TOS but never could manage to take it off. Better to avoid trying it anyway.

There are thousands of people who are making a lot of money without caring of the URL Color... so just don't care about the URL :)

Some webmasters did it without any problems, but as everyone agreed it's just not worth it. I never tried it and never will because I'm sure I would be full of nightmares.

Play clean and you will not regret it.

I still believe Google Ads formatting should be at least a bit more flexible. Text ads should offer more flexibility for those willing to integrate them into their websites. Advertisements should be part of the website, not hurt its look for the sake of attracting attention to them.

as everything else this too has good side and bad side.while good people can use it for make the site look good and the MFA people can use it to get unintended clicks...

A bit more flexible won't hurt but even as it's now, you can play around with it and make it look just like it's part of the site. There is still place for improvement , very true.
