    Hi All,

Is it safe to assume that text inside a <script> section will not be seen by Google or the other search engines?

Yes the search engines will ignore anything inside SCRIPT tag. As a general rule they will not count text that cannot be seen visually by a person.

I can't see the point of hiding text inside a script!

The text is set in Jaascript variables and written with a document.write command.

Why someone would hide? Here's a couple reasons:
    1. Create a JS scroller or some other text effect.
    2. Hide text to affect "keyword stuffing"
    3. Bury a known affiliate link that Google may not like
