Hiding Content from Google

I am looking to hide some specific content from Google on a page, and show the rest. This is because I am using Amazon descriptions for products - I don't want google to see that because they will penalise for duplicate content. I do have other unique content on the page that I want google to recognise.

Has anyone done this before? Any recommendations? I thought perhaps a frame, javascript or maybe creating an image on the fly...

You can use noindex attribute in meta tag because its difficult to hide content from google and easy for human. Google crawler read code not look of website.

I mean part of the page, not all of it. There is say two paragraphs of content I want to hide from Google and the rest of the page I want them to access...

We can't hide part of the content from Google, put that page in robots.txt then Google will not crawl that page

The only solution I can think of is through Javascript.

I thought about creating an image on the fly but its not very nice for the user and would be server intensive. Maybe include it as a frame would do the job

I don't think there is an ideal solution, but placing the content in an image should work. :)

Just rewrite the content slightly and you will not be penalized by google. It will actually help your ranking
