    Hey guys,

We have a website where we can promote their affiliate link at a very good percentage and have started to promote it through your usual places.

Google base jumped out and i when i was trying to submit to it i couldn't use affiliate links.

I did some research and found this website explaining it but couldn't really relate it to my situation.
    http://www.affiliatebeginnersguide.c.../htaccess.html
    (we have root access)

    or..

    http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum92/2078.htm

Our affiliate link as it stands is:
    http://www.OurAffiliateSite.com/inde..._id=1&aff_id=1

Do you think Google base will be able to notice the aff_id=1?

How can i use the .htaccess file to change my url to the following or something samiliar?

    http://www.OurAffiliateSite.com/Goog...&product_id=1&

    I dunno.....

    I hope you can help!

One way of hiding an affiliate link is to create a HTML file with the code...

    <script>window.location = "http://www.yourtoyouraffiliate/?affid=x&offer=x"</script>
    Code (markup):
This with both hide the affiliate link from search engines and also hide the referring information from the affiliate itself. Note, legal usage of this type of method is up to the affiliate.

Thanks, i have actually found an easier way through .htaccess:

    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteRule ^product/(.*)$ http://www.affiliatesite.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1&page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=$1&aff_id=1 [R=301]

Yep, you can always do it through mod_rewrite aswell, it just doesn't hide your refer information, but that really doesn't matter as long as you're doing it legit.
