Hidding small url in Adsense

    Hey,

Is one allowed to hide the small url on an ad unit by changing the colour of the url to match the background using the color palette option?

I am thinking if it can be changed within the account then it must be allowed.

Would it make any difference to the overall performance of adsense?

    Thanks and great site.

I think you will find if you try to do that AdSense automatically makes it black so its a waste of time. (At least they did when I experimented to see if its possible after reading a different post here)

Any other method would involve obscurring it or changing the code which you aren't allowed to do.

This can be done but is a very dangerous tactic which i'm sure google won't like. There are "some" ways in hiding the small url which i won't mention here. It won't make any difference in your overall performance. You might think that people will see the small "ads by google" and refrain from clicking, which is not true. Google is a powerful brand whom people trust and won't hesitate to click as long as the ad is relevant to the content of the page.

Thanks - I was guessing it could anger Google. The Ads by Google I know is essential and is not allowed to be removed, but the www bit.

Actually at the bottom of this post the banner is not displaying the www but is Ads by google, its this method I mean.

You can go as far as making the tiny URL #BFBFBF over a background of #FFFFFF. The system allows that to pass. Anything closer to white and it changes the colors.

Use 468*60 banner. There are no urls shown in that! In others, better not to take the risk of obscuring them!

I need some help.I just created a site using web making software,in this software we can control size of adblocks by changing Pixels to slighly hide the term "ads by google" and "advertise on this site".but i have never changed the code,it is as it is.for example,if i use "468X90" banner. i give pixels size "468X70"
so it hides bottom "ads by google" and "advertise on this site".shows only ads title and description. in some case we can use layer send back or front to hide "Ads by google" behing tables. is it good? can i make all pages like this?

    NO!

It is against the TOS to change the code.
