I have an accounts with Google Adwords in Australia and noticed recently that my bank statement was showing a "foreign currency" charge under the Google Adwords transaction. I couldn't understand why this had happened and contacted Google Custommer Assistance. I explained that my Account is set up in Australia, and my request for payment and billings is all through Australia. Google then checked this and said I was correct, but it was the bank who were making the error. Taking Googles advice, I then called the bank who told me Google process all payments overseas. I then called Google back and they kept repeating it was the banks fault, not theres. Anyway, to cut a long story short and after dozens of calls to my bank and emails back to Google (who still claimed it was not their fault), I finally received a reply from Google to confirm they have no payment processing facility in Australia and payments are processed overseas !!! That means every payment is eligible for a Foreign Exchance Purchase Fee. Not good enough from a multi-billion dollar company that could easily set up a processing facility in the country from which they are taking advertising revenues. Would be interested to hear from anyone else who has suffered a similar problem. It does make a mockery of them asking "what currency would you liked to be billed in?" It should just say, available in every currency so long as it's UK pound or US Dollar (bit like Henry Ford)
