A bit to empty... Leave a few lines between the title (try to add a bit color - color the stars maybe- ) and the search bar. Make the search bar more the "center" of the site. Also you should think to add maybe the 728x15 adsense bar on it or other ads that would not disturb the content too much. about your forum, do the opposite.. I guess that's a standard skin right? Try to design the main page with some eye catchy looks as it look really down with those effects .. Forum is just empty with few introduction posts and your logo on forum does not look professional too
Site needs a redesign and Google Custom Search needs to be replaced with a search facility that actually brings back relevant results.
