DMOZ alone will not get you page rank. It's just one link. but, Congratulations...that's pretty much it.
Did it just appear? Whats your site? I applied a while ago but no luck so far how long did you wait between submission and acceptance? Cheers
I am with you JohnUK, I submitted my site ages ago. How long did it take for your site to be accepted?
Sigh. (Regular readers look away now.) Perhaps you do not understand that DMOZ is not a listing service. Reviewing site suggestions is not a priority for volunteers, who look for sites in all sorts of places. The suggestions made by other people form nothing more than one resource editors can use if they feel like it. So there is no "queue" of sites "waiting" for review, let alone acceptance. Someone will probably find your site at some stage, but who or when that will be is completely unknown, and there is no point trying to guess.
First of all Congrats. Seems you are one of the few lucky people to be listed there. Well, its good idea to try free Yahoo listing, if you're testing your luck. Cheers, venetsian.
Ha ha ha ha .. I like that joke Well we all know that you guys at DMOZ are doing your best but still you can't process all applications and the major portion of the editors are not really active in the DMOZ editing. I'm really happy to hear that nowadays there is increase in activity, but still none of my recent applications were approved. I'm still waiting Cheers m8, Venetsian.
If you are talking about applications to become an editor (which I doubt), you are quite mistaken, because all applications are reviewed individually, most of them within a few days or weeks. Feedback is sent to every applicant, whether or not they are successful. And I sincerely hope that nobody is foolish enough to submit more than one editor application at a time. However, I suspect you are instead referring to site suggestions you have made, in which case it seems you obviously did not read the post immediately above yours, where I wrote
Oh! congratulations for DMOZ listing because not many sites are listed. When google updates PR you will notice a difference. Just begin to drive more traffic to your site and all the best.
Sigh. Does anybody read anything on these forums? Just 4 posts earlier I pointed out that DMOZ has over 4.6 million sites listed. I wouldn't call that "not many".
Probably they mean real sites and they don't count all the doorway pages listed for different affiliate program that benefits senior editors.
So you keep saying, without ever providing the proof. I doubt that anyone still believes such repetitively nebulous and unsupported allegations, so for the umpteenth time ... please provide the evidence if you have any.
