I can hardly believe what I’ve found here: tons of very useful info, clever people, and lots of networking options. I’m very impressed…so far. I come from Sydney now, and have been a blogger for 8 months. In Jan this year, I found I had to protect my copyright on work I’d done, but had not been paid for, by setting up my own blog on Addiction. I thought that was the best way to head off the rat-bag non-payer, at the pass. I also realized that if I set up a blog, I had a lot to learn. So I thought I should put everything I learned, into a blog on the topic of ‘How to Set Up a Blog and Make Money Online’. Because I started my documentation from day 1, anyone following my blog could also start learning from day 1, and end up with a fully functioning, and profitable blog, along with me. I haven’t started on the ‘profitable’ bit yet - that’s Phase 2 - coming soon! My ‘How to Blog’ website is called My Second Million, and has the Motto: Plan Well. Start Small. Think BIG! Which hopefully explains it’s ambitious title. I’ve found I cannot keep the occasional amusing side comment out of my writing - they amuse me, anyway - my readers will have to make their own judgments. But my visitor numbers have been steadily growing. Some people even come back more than once. These side comments usually come in the form of Free Bonuses. They range from Personal Relationship advice, Family counseling tips, financial advice, and the occasional moral guidance for when we find ourselves getting a-little-bit-out-of-control when struggling with Wordpress, or other software, that refuses to do what we tell it to do. In fact I now have a whole section, called Time Out! where I can indulge my passion for very bad, allegedly funny, verse. I find that writing dodgy verse helps to keep me out of trouble, mostly. In my spare time I'm also the Songwriting Moderator at GuitarForBeginners.com - a large music and guitar website with >115,000 members. I also have a tendency to write very long posts…...did you notice? I expect I'll be asking more questions here, than I can answer, but I'll be answering what I can, anyway. So, I’m glad I found you. Carol
Hi Carol, I'm in Sydney also. I've started a mastermind group for local Bloggers who are in or just past their Startup phase. Let me know if you might be interested. We currently have two whole members! We're in the inner west and generally catch up over lunch at a cafe.
Hi Carol I'm from across the ditch but it's always good to have more Australasians on the board Let me know if you need a hand with anything around here.
